The result sees Emery’s men leapfrog the Red Devils and climb into the top four, to cap off a very good weekend for Arsenal.Chelsea were unable to beat Wolves at Stamford Bridge earlier on Sunday, while third-placed Tottenham are only a point ahead of the Gunners following their defeat at Southampton on Saturday.It was a good performance all round for Arsenal but Xhaka’s goal on twelve minutes undoubtedly changed the course of the game. And Emery was full of praise for the Switzerland international, urging Xhaka to have a few more pops at goal in the future as his effort utterly bamboozled one of the best goalkeepers in the game in David de Gea.Emery said:“I don’t know if it was the best performance this season but we are improving, and being competitive in different matches. We can feel very proud of the players.“I’ve only been here one year and Xhaka is a specialist with shooting and he can shoot from different positions on the pitch.“He can shoot far from the goal but his shooting is very dangerous usually.
