Alisson, the Liverpool goalkeeper, quickly restarted play with a free-kick, and the hosts had the ball in the back of Fulham’s net just moments later with Mohamed Salah finishing past Sergio Rico.While the immediate reaction was to criticise the officials for the decision to disallow Mitrovic’s goal, it appears the real rule-breaking occurred slightly later in the incident.When Alisson took the resultant free-kick to begin Liverpool’s counter attack the ball was allegedly still moving, which should have resulted in play being pulled back so the goalkeeper could retake the set piece. There may be doubt about Mitrovic being offside or not, but there is no doubt Alisson broke the laws of the game before Liverpool went on to take the lead if the ball was still spinning on the turf.This did not go down well on social media, with fans of all teams blasting the decision to allow the Reds’ goal.You can see some of the best reaction below…
